Never before have I…heard such fantastic news. Season 3 of Netflix’s hit teen comedy Never Have I Ever will premiere in August, much to the pleasure of fans. Devi Vishwakumar, a teen at Sherman Oaks High School seeking to improve her life and social standing, is played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, a Canadian-born actress. Her best friends Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez) and Eleanor are also there for the adventure (Ramona Young).
Despite the fact that the show is mostly about the teenage girl experience, it is narrated for the most part by tennis legend John McEnroe, who provides insight into Devi’s thinking.
Poorna Jagannathan, who portrays Devi’s mother Nalini, Richa Moorjani, who plays Devi’s lovely, PhD-candidate cousin Kamala, and Jaren Lewison, who plays Devi’s friend and one-time sort-of-boyfriend, are also back for Season 3. And, of course, there’s Darren Barnet as Paxton Hall-Yoshida, a popular student and swimmer who, at the end of last season, finally decided to give Devi a serious relationship.
New photos from the third season tease upcoming events in Devi and her companions’ lives. For one thing, it appears that she and Aneesa (Megan Suri) have become closer, with the new girl seen in Devi’s room with her other pals. Des (Anirudh Pisharody), a private school student and a newbie this season, appears to be yet another new face who may put a wrench in the works.
Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher created Never Have I Ever. Howard Klein and David Miner of 3 Arts Entertainment executive produce the show, which is produced by Universal Television, a part of Universal Studio Group. “We are so thankful to Netflix and Universal Television for letting us continue to tell this tale, and to the fans around the world who clamoured to see more of this terribly behaved Indian girl,” Kaling and Fisher said in a statement on the series’ renewal for a third season.
The show is also set to return for a fourth and final season in 2023, most likely in the summer if the prior three seasons provide any indication.
